2024: ideally undo certain policies (& people)
Where are we, and where should we ideally be, going into the new year? USSR should remain in the past. The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics was a failure to begin with. The official title was a means of glossing over that it began and continued to be what former President Reagan termed as an evil empire . The appalling bad loser Vladimir Putin pretends that NATO defeated the Russian equivalent, the Warsaw Pact. The Soviet Union actually defeated itself . Morally, the perfect solution to his machinations would be his entire defeat on all fronts. The entirely unjustifiable war in Ukraine has only partially backfired, so far. Driving the Red Army out entirely is the only solution to the "special military operation" because Putin doesn't care how many soldiers are minced in what amounts to a meat grinder. He is prepared to wait as long as possible, hoping that Ukraine runs out of ammunition. The US congress and senato...
