Where are we, and where should we ideally be, going into the new year?USSR should remain in the past.
The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics was a failure to begin with. The official title was a means of glossing over that it began and continued to be what former President Reagan termed as an evil empire.
The appalling bad loser Vladimir Putin pretends that NATO defeated the Russian equivalent, the Warsaw Pact. The Soviet Union actually defeated itself. Morally, the perfect solution to his machinations would be his entire defeat on all fronts.
The entirely unjustifiable war in Ukraine has only partially backfired, so far. Driving the Red Army out entirely is the only solution to the "special military operation" because Putin doesn't care how many soldiers are minced in what amounts to a meat grinder. He is prepared to wait as long as possible, hoping that Ukraine runs out of ammunition. The US congress and senators should stop derailing funding, otherwise they would play into Putin's hands and become his useful idiots.
The presidential election in Russia is in March. While they have previously been a farce, it is extremely overdue that the Russian population should come round to realize he has force-fed them a long series of lies, and they should gain the courage to cast off the persecution complex that Putin has engineered and forced upon them, frequently brutally. Complete defeat in Ukraine, and failure to rig the presidential election on this occasion would be poetic justice which would benefit a wide array of individuals, within Russia itself and beyond.
Pantomime of the US presidency
The sociopolitical situation in the United States is the most bizarre it has ever been. While President Biden has a talent for falling up stairs, in a surreal reverse manner of former President Ford, his reelection campaign could be against his wannabe nemesis of Donald Trump.
At times, he has come across as deserving a nickname of Mr. More-Money-Than-Sense. The electorate needs to stop sleep walking, as Trump's manipulation of them has been Putinesque, dating from when he managed to prevail over Hilary Clinton.
What awaits the US and beyond if Trump prevails and literally gets away with having provoked a riot? If the courts hold him to account, and all he can do is continue to frown at them like an angry spaniel, he could be prevented from lining up against Joe Biden.
He might not be the official Republican candidate if a sufficient proportion of the electorate in selecting delegates to the 2024 Republican National Convention ceased to behave as if they were brain-dead.
Canada's unravelling
"Sunny times and sunny ways." Justin Trudeau's slogans that won him the election in 2015 have turned out to have been blather that insulted the intelligence of the electorate. Failure to observe and realize what he has been up to for the past 8 years entails that a sufficient proportion of the electorate has been insulting its own intelligence. This self-harm as a result of unconscious groupthink should become extinct so that the population of Canada can save itself. Such gullibility could have even more severe consequences if they continue with Darth Vader-in-drag as their prime minister.
Climate change evangelism has been enabled by his choice of a certain tool as environment minister.
Steven Guilbeault, the Greenpeace thug, has long been hallucinating. Thereby, he has lost objectivity, if he ever had any to begin with. He should be thrown in the bin. The counselling that he should receive, if he were not already a lost cause, would be to take all components of the entire picture into consideration. Doing this would prevent counterproductivity and backfiring of certain initiatives.
Failing to do so would entail not achieving even a portion of the aims that are dearest to an individual.
The improving popularity of the Conservative Party and sinking in the polls has resulted in the inevitable labelling which is tantamount to a ridiculous broken record. Likening Pierre Poilievre to Donald Trump is beyond ridiculous. Such labels that any opponent is divisive, like a far-right American who cuts services should be given the what it deserves - short shrift and howls of derision.
Aided and abetted by the NDP, the Bloq Quebecois and the Green Party reinforces the nature of how the Conservative Party is the only rational choice for any of the electorate who thinks objectively.
Just as the other Trudeau did on February 28 1984, this iteration of the Trudeau dynasty should go for a walk in the snow and realize that it is time to resign. Even better would be the realization that he should have never been prime minister in the first place. This applies even further to the electorate who owe it to themselves to metaphorically wake up.
UK sense of misdirection
The latest in the surrealism of musical chairs of leadership of the British Conservative Party, Rishi Sunak, has managed to be less awful than his predecessor. Unfortunately, he misjudged severely in appointing David Cameron as foreign secretary.
Britain's post-war decline only stopped once it became a member state of the European Community, the former name of the European Union (EU). The Brexit referendum was his idea during his tenure as prime minister. Isolationism led to misidentifying the real nature of the UK's past, present, and future which led to a small majority voting in favour of leaving the EU. Ever since that choice by a few million being as thick as 2 short planks, there has been a litany of proof and events that demonstrate that Brexit is still bollocks.
The British Conservative Party has been in mental and psychological decline since 1988, when Margaret Thatcher figuratively lost her marbles. For Rishi Sunak, there are more pressing tasks than just blathering the slogan "stop the boats." Boats of migrants heading over the English Channel from mainland Europe are unfortunately unaware that the perceived pull factors of the UK have little basis in reality. Just like Brexit, it is a load of bollocks.
While the musical chairs may have subsided, hopefully the conservative party will cease to be as dysfunctional as it has been for over 3 decades. A realization should dawn on the British people so that the UK rejoins the EU and stops transforming into the Disunited Kingdom. It could even need a radical governmental change of the first prime minister who is neither Conservative nor Labour since David Lloyd George at the end of World War One.
People's Republic of China - daft official title
The population of China has unrealized potential, which has been destroyed or frustrated throughout the existence of the current dynasty.
Enough should come to realize the ruin that Xi Jinping is imposing on China. He is a Mao Zedong clone, who is attempting to create a nation of obedient and useful idiots. Realization is overdue that Mao was not who most believe him to have been. During his tenure, his combination of cruelty and economic incompetence led as many deaths as Hitler and Stalin together. Groupthink and highly unrealistic self-image are dominant, ensured by intimidation.
The CCP (Chinese Communist Party) should dissolve and the so-called People's Republic on the mainland should emulate the political system in place in Taiwan. Essentially, the wrong side lost the civil war and evolved away from a light dictatorship to the present-day high functioning and advanced democracy.
The ruling party should actually get over itself and start doing what is right and live up to the republic's title. This would be far superior to the old fashioned communist tradition of giving themselves a round of applause. With Xi Jinping in charge, this is getting more pronounced, as many might fear that if they weren't completely loyal, they would spend the last seconds of their lives falling out of a tall building. Hong Kong should evolve to resemble what it was before the handover of 1997. The occupying British treated the people of Hong Kong far better than the PRC ever has. Into the new year this should discontinue, so this description wouldn't need to add "...or ever will" to the end of it.
In the South China Sea, the ludicrous "10 dash line" should be done away with entirely. The blinkers that the CCP wears has the counterproductive effect of driving many nations into the arms of perceived enemies such as the US and Japan. If such ridiculous use of water canon by the Chinese navy against fishing trawlers continues, the nature in which this is backfiring should increase even further. Nations of south Asia should strengthen their willingness and their refusal to be bullied.
Actual reforms should take place and the variety is elements of official misbehavior should be stopped entirely. Reversals of them would ensure that the damage is undone, so that China can cease to be a pariah state abroad, as well as a failed state domestically.
Israel: an eternal battleground?
It is difficult to single out which side is the worst, because the battleground in the Gaza Strip is an exhibition of disregard for human life.
Hamas and ISIS have long been beyond ridiculous. Enforcing an ancient mindset from centuries ago entails that women are non-people who are supposed end up being blindly obedient for the purpose of reproduction. Further counterproductive practices are the main motivation for the rampage that began in October. The ludicrousness of Hamas comes from selective reading of the Quran which is used as an excuse to justify the unjustifiable, such as suicide bombings. Religious texts as a delusional justification for being inhuman are a pretext beyond the Middle East, despite the worst wrong-doers being based in that region.
Israel's prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has long been a hard liner. This has given him the excuse for ordering what risks becoming close to a total war approach to Hamas. Despite human shields being a tactic Hamas and ISIS have long been notorious for engaging in, an essence of fairness could resume if it were not Netanyahu's one-size-fits-all reason for indiscriminate bombing, shelling, and raids.
The current conflict and the reasons for causing it and all of the unrest since the foundation of the state of Israel are even more unsolvable. Where and how will it all end? The only realistic outcome is that such battles can and will continue until everyone on one of the sides is all dead, or absolutely all of them are. Such multiple wrongdoings by all sides should cease altogether, otherwise there is potential that all that remains will be a hill of corpses.
Environmentalism groupthink without objectivity
While climate change is a genuine aspect of planet earth, it has become something of a cult to which many escape when they don't like the weather. Nowadays, the catchphrase of Swedish teenage campaigner Greta Thunberg "blah, blah, blah" applies to environmentalists far more than it does to politicians.
While renewable energy of wind, solar, and tidal are being researched and developed so that they become technically and environmentally feasible, there is still much to get on with to ensure that economies and societies develop evenly.
For the foreseeable future, renewables will remain false economies, both financially as well as environmentally. Much still depends on fossil fuels, so the cult should dissolve while development of alternatives continue to be encouraged.
Clothing and materials used in Tesla factories (etc.) depend on them substantially, so there should be more widespread recognition that the keep it in the ground wording is what is it is: total bollocks.
2024 ≠ 2023
Overall, there is a plethora of hysteria and groupthink that should be consigned to the trash, after they have been ground up. Even in democratic nations, there is much that is dysfunctioning in the spheres of both governance and societies. Excuses for immorality should be recognized for the total bollocks that they are, so there can no longer be a get-out-of-jail card available for the above-mentioned "leaders" as well as those who are gullible enough to believe them. Consideration and analysis of the entire picture is overdue so that 2024 can avoid the societal missteps and faceplants of 2023.
